migration

Stifled in queues

of cultural complexity,

they aspire to be more than their fathers.

A drift of intent

becomes a swell of urgency

to grasp at nettles

or at straws.

through a veil of stone and stoicism,

and a heft of harboured grudges,

they, and only they,

can be judges of what they seek.
